Library KidsClub previews Native American Festival

The Norman Public Library Saturday KidsClub offers students ages 7-12 a preview of the Native American Festival with a special beadwork project 2 p.m. Saturday at the library, 225 N. Webster Ave.

The event is free and all materials will be provided. No registration is required.

Tim Ramsey, local area beadwork artist and art specialist presents an age-appropriate craft project based on Native American beaded loom work. Even young kids will be able to make a simpler version of this beadwork project.

Ramsey is a native of El Reno and is a descendent of Choctaw, Cheyenne, and Irish ancestry. Ramsey has been developing art and educational curriculum for nearly 30 years, integrating design, history, and philosophy of Oklahoma Indian Nations.

KidsClub participants can return to the library 1-6 p.m. Sunday for more crafts, food, and entertainment at the Native American Festival.

For more information about Saturday KidsClub or the Native American festival, call 701-2600, visit the library, or log on to www.justsoyouknow.us.
