Fifth-grader chosen as student ambassador

NORMAN — Emma Bodenstein, a fifth-grader at All Saints Catholic School in Norman, has been chosen as a student ambassador with the People to People Ambassador program.

She is raising money to participate with a group of other fifth- and sixth-graders on a trip to Western Canada. They will focus on global awareness and different cultures while participating in local customs.

The program helps students develop stronger leadership skills in the process as well. Emma, the daughter of Michelle Bodenstein, said she looks forward to not only having the opportunity to travel abroad but go whale watching and build a teepee where she will sleep.

Donations may be made by contacting The Apothem on Campus Corner at 447-2345 or mailing there to Emma’s attention, 784 Asp Ave., Norman, OK 73069.
