Miss Norman International crowned
Caitlin Taylor of Norman was recently crowned Miss Norman International 2009. Taylor will compete for the title of Miss Oklahoma International April 26 at the Seretean Center in Stillwater.
Contestants of the Miss Oklahoma International pageant will compete in the areas of evening gown, aerobic wear, fun fashion wear and personal interview.
Taylor, a student at the University of Oklahoma, will promote her platform of weather safety using the StormReady program from the National Weather Service during her reign as Miss Norman and if she should win the state or international crown. Taylor has worked with the OU Student Chapter of the American Meteorological Society on Outreach programs geared toward fifth grade children.
"We have taught weather safety using StormReady coloring books and fun facts to Norman area students," Taylor said.
Taylor is the daughter of Donna and Jeff Taylor of Wichita, Kan. In her spare time she enjoys wakeboarding, TaeKwon Do, playing the flute and modeling.
