AARP
Local Chapter 1064 of AARP meets 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at the Norman Senior Citizens' Center, 329 S. Peters Ave.
The speaker will be Greg Heiple, author of "Teeter Totter Principle," a system for managing life savings that allows an investor to keep more money in fixed-rate cash and place less in risk-based investments.
Anyone age 50 or better is welcome to attend. Annual dues are $5. Those who would like to join AARP, or already are members but would like to join the local chapter, should call Carla Fry, president of AARP Chapter 1064, at 701-2132.
Cleveland County Genealogical Society
The Cleveland County Genealogical Society invites anyone to bring photos and documents of local history to its computer lab to be scanned, sourced and archived from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Norman Public Library, 225 N. Webster Ave.
The resulting database will be kept at the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and at the CCGS Library.
Materials on businesses, churches, schools, veterans and families are good subjects for this project. This is part of the Native American Festival -- also honoring Veterans -- at the public library.
Nov. 21, the CCGS will present Fred Dittmar, professional genealogy researcher and instructor, who will speak on "It's on the Internet, so it's Correct RIGHT?"?
The meeting begins 7 p.m. in the CSBI Classroom in the CSBI Building on East Main Street. Anyone interested is invited to attend.
Norman Lions Club
The Norman Lions Club meets 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in Alexander Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 555 University Blvd.

Norman Women's Connection invites area women to a luncheon at noon Tuesday at Assistance League of Norman's chapter house, 809 Wall St.
Holiday gift ideas will be presented by Brockhaus Jewelry, Roberta's Jewelry and Gifts and Ginny Jenkins -- photography, cards and Avon. Monique Weaver, a University of Oklahoma graduate student, will share A Gift of Music.
The featured speaker, Christi Craddock, a legal assistant from Edmond, will share how she found The Gift of True Worth after struggling through an eating disorder, chemical dependency and work.
Cost of the program is $6.50, and free childcare is available by reservation.
