Trinity Lutheran School, a private parochial school established in 1989, recently was awarded full accreditation from the National Lutheran School Association.
Trinity Lutheran School Board and staff participated in a three year self-study process to accomplish this.
In April 2009, a four-person team comprised of education professionals visited the school for three days. The team evaluated 11 aspects of the school, including personnel, curriculum and student services.
The standards set forth by the National Lutheran School Association meet or exceed Oklahoma state standards for school accreditation. Trinity Lutheran School joins the ranks of more than 700 accredited Lutheran elementary schools in the nation.
Trinity Lutheran School is a mission arm of Trinity Lutheran Church. On Oct. 4, Trinity Lutheran Church will host a celebration. The official certificate of accreditation will be presented to the congregation at the 10:30 a.m. worship service. A reception will follow.
Katherine McGrew, education commissioner for the Oklahoma District of NLSA and headmaster at Immanuel Christian Academy in Broken Arrow, will present the official accreditation certificate. All church and school families are invited to attend the festivities, as well as five former principals.
