NORMAN — Kennedy Elementary School
Fifth-graders are creating self-portraits. With a partner they are drawing their faces on paper plates and creating picture frames using tear art. They also are finding 10 adjectives from magazines which describe themselves. The finished product is their self portrait glued in the middle of the picture frame with their adjectives surrounding their faces.
Second-graders performed two songs by Tom Chapin for Earth Day at an assembly. One was about the beauty of the earth and the other was about recycling.
Pre-kindergarteners through second-graders hosted Oklahoma author Tammi Sauer on April 6. Sauer was able to share where she got her ideas for her books in an interactive presentation including magic tricks and the telling of her story “Chicken Dance.”
