NORMAN — Parents Helping Parents will present two local events at the Education Center at Norman Regional Hospital, 901 N. Porter Ave.
The first event is at 7 p.m. March 28, with “Pleasure Unwoven,” a film viewing and question and answer session with Dr. Kevin McCauley. The evening will include information for families affected by addiction as well as for therapists, doctors, pastors, teachers, law enforcement and others.
The film is the brainchild of McCauley with The Institute of Addiction Study. A graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania, McCauley explores arguments for and against this debate, reviewing the latest neuro-scientific research about addiction along the way.
The second event is from 9 a.m. to noon March 29 with The Brain and Recovery and Addiction Recovery Management workshop for therapists and clinicians. Cost is $30. To register online, visit www.pleasureunwoven.eventbrite.com.
The workshop will include an update on what is currently known in neuroscience about addiction.
