Veteran’s First Fund established

NORMAN — The Oklahoma Society Daughters of the American Revolution have establish an endowment known as the Veteran’s First Fund to help with the many needs of veterans that are often overlooked.

There are more than 6,800 veterans that are annually referred to the Veterans Affairs of Voluntary Service, at the Oklahoma City and Muskogee VA Medical Centers. These funds will assist Oklahoma veterans with services and goods for women veterans, short term sponsorship for homeless veterans, mental health and brain injury rehabilitation support, items such as toiletries, clothing and food vouchers and grants for veterans transitioning back into the work force.
