East Main place to host dinner on Tuesday

NORMAN — East Main Place will host its annual Benvenuti’s dinner and fundraiser today.

Tickets are $100 per person and $75 of that donation is tax deducible.

East Main Place is one of Norman’s largest transitional living facilities for the homeless, housing more than 50 residents at any given time. Comprehensive case management services, accountability and structure are what allow the program participants to succeed.

Seating for the event will be available at 6:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 7 p.m. Dinner will include a salad, braised boneless beef short ribs served with risotto and roasted seasonal vegetables, followed by a New York cheesecake with berry sauce for dessert. Wine, beer, iced tea, water and coffee will be served. A vegan meal option is available for individuals who pre-purchase a ticket and specify a need in advance.

Guests will dine to jazz music by John Calvin and Kyle Reid. A previous program resident will speak about the quality community service that East Main Place provides to Norman.
