NORMAN — Kennedy
Singer/songwriter and Norman native Maggie McClure performed at Kennedy School onTuesday. She talked to children about doing well in school, following their dreams and music’s role in their lives. Fourth-graders will perform one of her songs, “Good Morning and Good Night” later this year.
Twenty children from third through fifth grades make up Kennedy’s Step Team. They are looking forward to their first performance on Friday at the city of Norman’s tree lighting ceremony.
McKinley
Two McKinley moms, Claudia Robertson and Ami Arthur, head up a group of fifth-graders, Operation Hero, who are helping Meeker earthquake victims.
The group is new, so funds were limited. Students decided to donate baked goods to feed the work crews who were cleaning up recently. The baked goods help feed more than 21 workers at one home.
