It is said that some of life's greatest treasures are found in your own backyard. John McGaha and Wes Holderby, both Oklahoma natives, are two of those treasures.
McGaha, a composer, singer and songwriter for more than 30 years, and his wife, Leah Kenton-McGaha, will perform selections from his third solo CD, "The Longest Night: A Winter Collection," 6 to 10 tonight, during a CD release party at Sandalwood and Sage, 322 E. Main St., timed to coincide with Norman's Annual Holiday Art Walk.
His latest CD is an instrumental interpretation of traditional songs celebrating the winter holidays.
Visual artist Wes Holderby also will showcase his paintings, prints and metal works during the art walk.
Since his early teens this self-taught, Okemah native showcased his vividly painted metal sculptures along side his father's metal sculptures at several local galleries, such as Artisan 9 in Oklahoma City's Cross Roads Mall.
His vivid color, layered designs and surreal images give new meaning to the term psychedelic art.
