Tribes 131, 131 24th Ave. NW, showcases some of the country's most noted Native American Southwest artists in "Small Treasures for the Holidays."
This exhibit highlights gallery artists' creations in miniatures, ranging in size from 1-by-1 inch to a little larger.
Artists featured in the exhibit include Benjamin Harjo Jr., Harvey Pratt, Dwayne Wilcox, Richard Whitman, Wayne Cooper, Troy Anderson, David Kaskaske, Dorothy Sullivan, Gwen Coleman-Lester, Dolores Purdy Corcoran, Brent Learned and Robby McMurtry.
Pottery crafted by Jere Redcorn, who recently sold pieces to the Obama family, Patricia Baxter Shebola and Annette Sinesio also are featured. There is miniature beadwork by Elena Pate and sculptures by Elaine Creepingbear on display, too.
In addition to the collection, the gallery will feature six top jewelers and designers, including works by Charlie Pratt, Heidi Bigknife, Sarah Davison, Leslie Gee, David Dear, Bruce Caesar and Jolene Bird. The collection ranges from traditional squash blossom necklaces to contemporary elegant wearable works of art.
Servicing Oklahoma for more than 18 years in Native American fine arts and Southwest collectibles, Tribes showcases an inventory of all media.
