It's 2009, but a snapshot and brief listen of The Doors circa 1969 is coming to Norman Saturday.
John Howell, owner of Coach's Brewery, The Library Bar and Grill and Blu Fine Wine and Foods, recruited the band, Moonlight Drive, after hearing one of their performances at a music festival.
"I thought oh my gosh, they sound just like them," said Howell, who promises this will be one "helluva" show.
The band will play 9 p.m. Saturday at Coach's Brewhouse, 110 W. Main St. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Dustin Lentz, keyboard, plays Ray Manzarek; Tim Utter, bass, plays Robby Krieger; David Damm, percussion, plays John Densmore and Robert Shannon, vocals, plays Jim Morrison.
Howell said the band, comprised of doctors and lawyers in their 30s and 40s, is anything but ordinary.
"This isn't a couple of 20-year-olds in a garage band," Howell said. "They've done the work, done the research."
