Norman's very own Hosty Duo will fill Lions Park with catchy, high octane tunes 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and concertgoers are encouraged to bring their favorite picnic items and lawn chairs to the park to enjoy the concert. Summer Breeze is a program sponsored through The Norman Performing Arts Studio. Representatives from East Main Place will be on hand to discuss and raise awareness of the services that they provide the community.
"We are very excited to have Michael and (Mike Byars) 'Tic Tac' back to Summer Breeze this year," said Summer Breeze Chairman Steven White. "So many people read and hear about the Hosty Duo but don't get the opportunity to see them. This is the perfect chance to catch one of the nicest and most talented bands currently touring in the park with family and friends."
The Duo will play nearly 250 shows this year across the country. The Duo draws audiences in with songs about love, macaroni and cheese, Chewbacca, tornadoes and the Cleveland County Detention Center.
"Michael and I always like to do something to give back to the community during his Summer Breeze performances. The past two years we have raised non-perishable food items and this year we have decided to invite the staff of East Main Place to come out and share their mission and provide information about the valuable services they provide for those less fortunate in our community. The chance for his fans and those who attend Summer Breeze to be made aware of this valuable service and help others just makes sense to me." White said.
