Feeling the 'Love'

At Tribes 131 Fine Art and Gift Gallery, 131 24th Ave. NW, a show featuring six artists will open 7 -10 p.m. today. The public will be able to enjoy appetizers, meet the artists and view their latest creations in the "Love of Ledger Art -- History in Pictures" exhibit. Harvey Pratt ("The Delegation," top right), Virginia Stroud, ("Special Occasion," bottom right) Sherman Chaddlesone, Dolores Purdy Corcoran ("Cad-do-Lacs," top left ) and Brent Learned will be featured with their historical style "ledger" paintings created on original deeds and documents dating to the 1800s. Internationally acclaimed silversmith David Dear (bottom left) will feature his full line of jewelry. Jewelry and prints will remain on sale through the end of the month.
