Arts market added to Norman Music Festival

Norman — The third annual Norman Music Festival (NMF) has added a new partnership to this year’s festival.

“The Dustbowl Arts Market has partnered with Norman Music Festival to create an open air market on the corner of Crawford (Avenue) and Gray (Street) in downtown Norman that will feature regionally local artists and handmade vendors during this April’s Music Festival,” said Katie Huskerson, organizer for the Dustbowl Arts Market.

Huskerson said the Dustbowl is a market for art and handmade goods that focuses on local commerce, building community and celebrating originality. Dustbowl is accepting applications for artists interested in showcasing their art and handmade goods of all kinds at the festival. The deadline for artist applications is March 25.

With new restrictions on food and drinks coming into the festival, vendors are more important than ever. Food vendors will be in a centrally located city parking lot, near the Kids Stage and art vendors. Food vendors must be licensed by the proper authorities and be able to provide copies of all permits with their application.

Commercial vendors will be on the 200 block of East Main Street. Deadline for food and commercial vendor applications is April 9.

Applications for all vendors can be downloaded from the Web site http://normanmusicfestival.com/home/ under the Vendor tab.

This year, the Norman Music Festival needs at least 160 volunteers. Volunteers will receive a T-shirt for helping with crowd control, clean up, hospitality, parking and other duties. A volunteer sign-up form can be found on the Web site, http://normanmusicfestival.com/home/index.php/partners/volunteers.

The third annual Norman Music Festival will be April 24 and 25. The festival is free and open to the public and will take place on the 100, 200 and 300 blocks of East Main Street, east of the railroad tracks in the Arts District.
