School board faces full agenda

NORMAN — The Norman School Board will be busy at 7 tonight in the City Council Chambers, 201 W. Gray St.

Special agenda items heading off the meeting will focus on the official resignation of board President Darry Stacy and declaration of the vacancy of Office No. 3, followed by a recognition of Stacy’s service to the district.

Awards presentations will honor the Norman North High School football team as the Class 6A state runner-up, an all-state Norman High athlete and Embassy Suites of Norman manager Michael Vance for the hotel’s partnership with Dimensions Academy.

Additional agenda items for the board’s action will include further change orders in the Administrative Services Center renovation, which prompted the approval of bids nearly $500,000 more than the anticipated cost at the last board meeting.

The board also will be presented with the 2011-2012 audit report for the district, the 2014-2015 academic calendar and recommendations for facility evaluation and planning services for the District Facility Master Plan, providing insight into the district’s next bond issues.
