Pom heads to nationals

NORMAN — The Norman North Varsity Pom squad will travel Friday to Orlando, Fla., to compete at the annual National Dance Association competition.

The team will represent Oklahoma after achieving the class 6-A State Champion title in the dance mix category at the Oklahoma State Dance Team Director’s Association state competition in December.

The team successfully beat the high school varsity pom squads from Enid, Owasso, Edmond Santa Fe, Putnam City North and Norman High School, with 65 high schools from across the state competing in different dance categories.

The squad is sponsored and coached by Mrs. Lori Kemmet, Spanish teacher at Norman North.
