Little Axe teacher of the year announced

NORMAN — Little Axe Elementary teacher Brian Tupper was named the 2012-2013 Little Axe School District Teacher of the Year on Friday.

As part of the surprise announcement, Tupper was honored at a luncheon by the district’s administration, teachers and staff. Tupper has taught at the school for four years.

Tupper said he strives to display honor, honesty, hard work, helping others and has high expectations for himself as well as his students.

Also being honored at the luncheon were Mata Alterman, Middle School Teacher of the Year and David Bounds, High School Teacher of the Year.

All three teachers exemplify excellence in education and go the extra mile to deliver to their students the most valuable commodity: a quality education.
