NORMAN — Students won second place at international botball tourney
Norman North and Norman High School’s combined team, Norman Advanced Robotics, was recognized by the State Board of Education at the capitol Wednesday.
The board honored the team as part of a regular meeting.
NAR is a three-year-old merge between teams at Norman North and Norman High Schools, building on a 12-year tradition of high-performance, award-winning robotic design and competition in the world of Botball.
Botball, an international educational robotics program, is a competitive opportunity in which student teams design, build and document autonomous robots, tested by completing a series of challenges or tasks at tournaments.
The team was honored for its second-place finish at the International Botball Tournament in July in Honolulu.
Approximately 60 teams competed in the international tournament, with Austria’s team taking first place.
