Everyone loves a parade

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — The cooler weather has finally arrived just in time for today’s parade. We can’t imagine sitting on the tailgate with blankets serving hot chocolate during today’s Christmas parade with temperatures in the 70s.

The annual parade begins at 10 a.m. today at Norman High School and moves east on Main Street. Barry and Becky Switzer will serve as grand marshals.

It’s one of three parades that use Main Street each year but is usually the biggest. Parade committee chairman Ed Copelin estimates more than 75 entries. The Mardi Gras parade and 89er Day parade are held in February and April but are usually not as large as the Christmas parade.

The Express Clydesdales will make a special appearance in this year’s parade.
