TULSA — Witness sought in shooting

An arrest warrant has been issued for a witness in the shooting deaths of two men at a Best Buy in Tulsa.

The Tulsa World reports that the warrant was issued Friday for Shania Craven.

Prosecutors say Craven was a witness to the July 14 shooting that killed Scott Dewayne Norman and Graydon Wesley Brown. Investigators say Norman was the target of the shooting and Brown was hit by a stray bullet as he shopped inside the store with his 10-year-old daughter.

Willie Wise and Jeremy Foster are each charged with two-counts of first-degree murder and have pleaded not guilty.

Craven was arrested as an accessory to murder — but was released when no charge was filed.

Prosecutors say Craven moved to an undisclosed state and has since disappeared.

Murder trial slated to start

LAWTON — The second murder trial of a Lawton man in the death of an alleged robbery partner is scheduled to start.

The Lawton-Constitution reports that jury selection is to begin Monday in Comanche County District Court in the first-degree murder trial of Jeffery Karr for the Sept. 25, 2009, shooting death of 34-year-old Michael Wermy.

Court and police records say Karr, Wermy and another person were attempting to rob a northwest Lawton home when Wermy was shot in the face and killed when a gun that Karr was using to beat one of the robbery victims accidentally fired.

Karr has pleaded not guilty.

A previous trial ended in mistrial when the jury could not reach unanimous agreement on a verdict.
