CCSO increases application and fingerprinting times

NORMAN — The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office will increase its operation hours for fingerprinting and Self Defense Act application services beginning Wednesday.

Beginning that day, people may visit the sheriff’s office from 1 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday and Thursday to turn in SDA applications and be fingerprinted.

Sheriff Joe Lester said CCSO has seen an increase in the number of SDA applications in recent weeks. Six months ago, employees processed about 50 applications a week. The number has since doubled.

“By adding an extra two hours a week, we hope to meet the growing demand for SDA licenses,” Lester said. “Please be patient when you arrive to fill out your paperwork, and we will be with you as soon as possible.”
