NORMAN — The victims of Wednesday morning’s fatal fire on the city’s southeast side have been identified as Cory Finley, 24, and Amber Finley, 3.
Havenbrook Funeral Home confirmed the names Thursday afternoon.
The father and daughter were found at 2705 Richardson Drive in a southeast Norman home.
The home was owned by Cory’s mother and father, Richard and Brenda Finley, according to county records.
Norman Fire Department said fire investigators are focusing on an accidental cause of the fire based on the available evidence and witness statements. A fire department press release stated that no suspicious or negligent ignition has been indicated at this time.
“However, the fire remains under investigation and a final fire cause determination will not be possible without further investigation and testing is completed,” the release stated.
The fire was called in at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. It took about 20 firefighters 40 minutes to contain the blaze. These are the first fire deaths to occur in Norman this year. Norman had three fire deaths in 2012.
