McClain Co. deaths ruled homicides

NORMAN — The State Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the manner of death for a mother and her two children found inside a burned mobile home last week in rural McClain County is homicide.

State Medical Examiner’s Office Spokesperson Cherokee Ballard said autopsies have been completed on Katrina Griffin, 24, Christian Griffin, 8, and Chasity Hammer, 6.

Katrina Griffin died from “multiple sharp force trauma,” Ballard said. Christian Griffin suffered multiple stab wounds.

Ballard said Chasity Hammer died from “smoke inhalation and thermal injury.”

“We just finished the autopsies and the bodies are ready to be released,” Ballard said Wednesday afternoon.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating all three deaths.

Shaun Michael Bosse, 27, of Oklahoma City, remains in the McClain County Jail without bond almost a week after he was arrested on three first-degree murder complaints, according to jail records.

OSBI spokesperson Jessica Brown said Tuesday that Bosse was arrested July 23 in connection to the deaths. Griffin and her children were found dead earlier that day in the burned home on Oklahoma 39 about 10 miles west of Purcell.

McClain County court records show no charges have been filed against Bosse. However, a probable cause affidavit has been sealed at Bosse’s request, according to court records.

Court records show another hearing in Bosse’s case has been scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday at the McClain County Courthouse.
