State Highway 9 wreck results in one fatality

NORMAN — Police confirmed one fatality after a two-vehicle wreck Thursday.

Norman Police, Norman Fire Department and EMSStat responded to the wreck around 4 p.m. near State Highway 9 and 120th Avenue Southeast.

Police said only two drivers were involved. One of the vehicles was traveling northbound on 120th and the other was traveling eastbound on Highway 9, Sgt. Eric Lehenbauer said.

“It was quickly apparent that one driver had passed,” he said.

Lehenbauer said the other driver did not have serious injuries and was not transported to the hospital by an ambulance. No names have been released yet.

“The search team working it (the accident) right now is being led by Lt. Barbour,” Lehenbauer said Thursday night.
