Police arrest man in stabbing

NORMAN — Norman police, EMSStat and the Norman Fire Department responded to a domestic disturbance and stabbing Monday morning in northwest Norman.

The agencies responded to the call shortly after 11:30 a.m. at 4210 Hunters Hill Road. Upon arrival, responders discovered a man in his 40s who had suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso.

EMSStat transported the victim to the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City for treatment of injuries described as “possibly life threatening”.

Later Monday, police arrested Ryan Merle Corley, 23. He was booked into the Cleveland County Justice Center on complaints of assault and battery with intent to kill.  Formal criminal charges are pending through the district attorney’s office.

Earlier, police said they detained a man in his 20s who lives at the residence and is a family member of the victim.

 The victim’s identity and condition had not been released late Monday evening.
