Man charged for leaving gun in school

NORMAN — An Oklahoma City man was charged Tuesday for possession of a weapon on school property.

Mark Thomas Brim, 57, left his loaded gun in a classroom at Plaza Towers Elementary in Moore over the weekend after working on a computer there. Brim was a relative of one of the teachers, Moore police said.

Apparently, the gun fell out of Brim’s pocket, where it was found in a teacher’s chair Monday morning. Police were contacted immediately, and the school was on lockdown for about three hours. Plaza Towers students were directed to the cafeteria while police searched the building. Nothing more was found.

Brim’s bond is set at $5,000. Judge Tom Lucas at the Cleveland County Court-house has been assigned to the case.
