Norman Regional revenue up in June

NORMAN — Norman Regional Health System brought in nearly $1 million more than expected in June, according to a financial summary released at the Norman Regional Hospital Authority’s regular meeting Monday.

NRHS’ Chief Financial Officer Ken Hopkins updated board members on the health system’s financial situation.

According to the report, NRHS earned $23.5 million in net revenue. The hospital had expected to bring in at least $22.8 million.

Operating expenses, however, increased last month.

Operating expenses were $1 million more, budgeted for the month at $24.4 million.

Following Hopkins’ presentation, board chair Robin Wiens Campbell and vice chair Tom Clote, along with board members Maryanne Maletz, Russ McReynolds, Don Sherman, Dr. Jeffrey Burcham, Dr. George Ingels, Dr. Muhammad Anwar, and Dr. Carol Anderson, approved the budget.

Board members also approved the following items at Monday’s meeting:

· The obstetrics and gynecology robotic privilege request form;

· Purchase of a telephone system estimated at $296,461 for Moore Medical Center;

· Revisions to the 2010 Compliance Plan;

· Revisions to the 2010-2011 Risk Management Plan;

· Increase in Professional Liability coverage by System Administration.
