• Tour stops planned in Norman

One group is trying to do its fair share. The Atlanta-based U.S. Kids Golf Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, conducts over 400 junior events for boys and girls throughout the country and internationally.

A big part of the tournament schedule is the multi-event tours that will occur in 39 cities beginning in late May. This local tour will consist of eight single-day events around Oklahoma.

Events will be played June 14 at Winter Creek Golf & Country Club in Blanchard, June 22 at Cimarron National Golf Club in Guthrie, June 28 at Trosper Park Golf Course in Oklahoma City, July 7 at Coffee Creek Golf Course in Edmond, July 26 at Westwood Park Golf Course in Norman and Aug. 11 at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman. The Tour Championship is Aug. 16 at Choctaw Creek Golf Club in Choctaw.

All U.S. Kids Golf Tour events consist of nine age groups for boys (six and under to 14) and eight for girls (seven and under to 14). Depending upon the child’s age the one-day events consist of nine or 18 holes.

According to officials, the purpose of the tournaments are to help kids have fun learning the lifelong game of golf and to encourage family interaction that builds lasting memories.

For more information, call John Marshall at (770) 436-2643 or Kristi Novak (770) 441-3077.
