Team Metro takes home nine golds

The Team Metro weightlifting club of Norman placed 10 competitors and won nine gold medals at the Missouri Valley Weightlifting Championship in St. Joseph, MO.

Gold medal winners include Nick Canavan, Zac Pierce and Dylan Cox. Richard Peoples, Matt Connery and Riley Nolan snatched silver medals. Nicolai Bell took a bronze.

Canavan also won a Best lifter award with a total of 506 pounds and qualified for the USA National School Age Championship, which will be held in June at Disneyworld.
