Retailers in Norman are encouraged to participate in the upcoming Hoopla of Savings Sale, July 11-13.
Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau won the bid to host the AAU 13-and-under girls basketball championship. This event is expected to bring 5,000 people and add $4,900,000 to the community.?
The Retail Trade Committee of the Norman Chamber of Commerce is organizing the sale to take advantage of this opportunity.
"This annual event encourages retailers to offer discounts and festivities to people who brave the heat to celebrate the sales," Vera Taylor, co-chair of the Retail Trade Committee said. "In addition to store sponsored sales, the Retail Trade Committee is partnering with the arts community in Norman to offer giveaways."
Every shopper who visits a participating store will have a chance to fill out an entry for prizes. Prizes will include entry to local museums and festivals and other opportunities to celebrate the arts in Norman. Winners will be announced the week of July 21.
Retailers participating will receive a Hoopla of Savings Sale weekend poster and official entry pads for the chamber sponsored prizes.?Posters will cost $5 for Chamber members and $10 for non Chamber members.
