NORMAN — Small Enterprise Training Program

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation will host a Small Enterprise Training Program seminar on Business Communications and Networking from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Oct. 19 at the Francis Tuttle Technology Center for Corporate Training, 12777 N. Rockwell, Oklahoma City. The free seminar is for small or disadvantaged business enterprises that are actively engaged in heavy construction and bidding on ODOT projects. The Seminar will cover social media, strategies for marketing to government and writing a capabilities statement. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m., OK 73142. Companies that are interested must be in the heavy construction industry and qualify as a small business according to SBA standards. Pre-Registration is required. Rudy’s goes Pink for Breast Cancer

Rudy’s “Country Store” and Bar-B-Q, 3450 Chautauqua Ave., is transforming its iconic Rudy’s Bar-B-Q plastic cups into the color pink this October in an effort to raise $50,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Rudy’s Bar-B-Q will accept donations from guests who will receive a free 32 oz. drink on their next visit for a minimum donation of one dollar.

U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis report

Personal income increased $15 billion, or 0.1 percent, and disposable personal income increased $12.5 billion, or 0.1 percent, in August, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Personal consumption expenditures increased $57.2 billion, or 0.5 percent. 

Earthfruits Yogurt

Norman will soon join Austin, Texas and cities in Southern California, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Connecticut and Maryland in offering a growing trend in frozen yogurt cafes. EarthFruits Yogurt is coming soon to the University Town Center with the store in the final stages at 1631 24th Avenue Northwest.
