NORMAN — Restaurant

coming to Native Roots location

A locally owned and operated restaurant will open soon on Main Street in Historic Downtown Norman at the former site of Native Roots. Brady Sexton’s Scratch Kitchen and Cocktails will open in late March or early April.

Personal

income is up

Personal income increased $352.4 billion, or 2.6 percent, and disposable personal income increased $331.3 billion, or 2.7 percent, in December, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Personal consumption expenditures increased $22.6 billion, or 0.2 percent.

Commercial lease

Judy J. Hatfield, CCIM of Equity Commercial Realty, LLC was the broker for the lease for 1100 N. Porter Ave., Suite 108. The 2,200 square foot space located in the 323 Mosier Limited Partnership property was leased by Branch and Hurtt Law Firm, P.C.

Free Chick-Fil-A

The 14 Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Greater Oklahoma City Area will treat Chick-fil-A customers to a free Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich on Tuesday, Feb. 5. One free Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich will be awarded to any customer who visits a participating Greater Oklahoma City Area Chick-fil-A restaurant between 5 and 7 p.m. on Feb. 5.

App to track corporate affairs

Timed to the Feb. 4 PBS Independent Lens rebroadcast of their award-winning documentary As Goes Janesville, 371 Productions is launching BizVizz, the first mobile iPhone app to make corporate behavior transparent. Snap a picture of a brand’s logo to get a simple graphic screen that instantly displays financial data about America’s largest corporations. How much tax do they pay? How much money do they get in government in subsidies? To whom do they give their political donations?

BizVizz currently features 300 companies and more than 900 brands with plans to expand. It will appear in the app store on Monday.

Velie Law Firm honored

The 2013 Americas Business Excellence Forum, sponsored by ActionCOACH, named Velie Law Firm of Norman the winner of the Best Overall Company under 10 employees at this year’s Business Excellence Awards, held in Las Vegas Nevada at the Red Rock Resort and Casino.
