Groups should start funding process

NORMAN — Organizations interested in funding for fiscal year 2014 from United Way of Norman need to take the first step now and submit a Letter of Intent.

The Letter of Intent form is available on the United Way’s website at www.unitedwaynorman.org/funding. Instructions and eligibility requirements are included in the document. The deadline for the Letter of Intent is Jan. 25 at noon. Organizations with a qualifying Letter of Intent will be able to submit a request for funding in February.

To qualify for funding from the United Way, organizations are required to be a 501(c)3 organization and provide health and human services in the Norman area. Those services must be aligned with the community impact goals and framework of the United Way.

This is a competitive grant review process. Funded programs will be required to measure outcomes, deliver quarterly reports and provide evidence about how they change lives in the Norman area.

United Way of Norman strategically invests funds to meet basic needs and tackle the root of community issues. The United Way’s funding strategy focuses on long-term goals; such as reducing the risky behavior of children, increasing the economic stability of families and improving the health and safety of children and adults in our community.
