United Way campaign closing in on finish line

NORMAN — It’s hard to believe, but there are only a few more weeks left in this year’s United Way of Norman fundraising campaign. The Victory Celebration is less than a month away on Dec. 7. If you haven’t given yet, the time is now.

Teresa Turner loves her community. She played basketball at the University of Oklahoma and now she works there, as the Assistant Director of Athletic Academic Affairs. Norman holds a special place in her heart.

Like most people in our community, Teresa has a strong spirit for serving others who need help.

“I believe that it is my responsibility to help make my community be a place that I enjoy living in and that others want to live in,” said Turner. “I also feel that if I have resources; whether it be time, talent or finances that can help others in my community then that too should be my charge.”

Part of Turner’s community service is strong support for the United Way of Norman. She serves on the Board of Directors and gives her fair share.

“I give to United Way because of the diverse population of people that are helped through this organization and because of this organization’s passion to help,” said Turner. “I encourage others to give to United Way because it is a productive and successful organization. You can feel confident that your donations will be used to continue making Norman a great place to live.”

Teresa is just one of thousands of people in Norman who support the United Way through their time, talents and resources. If you would like to join them and make a difference in our community, call the United Way at 329-2025 or send your donation to:
