Norman — Jeff Pilkington, an independent financial advisor at Republic Investment Services in Norman, has been recognized as a top financial advisor and named to the LPL Financial Director’s Club.

The distinction is awarded to less than 20 percent of the firm’s 12,027 advisors nationwide and is based on an annual production ranking of all registered advisors supported by LPL Financial, the nation’s largest independent broker-dealer.

Anne M. Roberts, Norman, former executive director of the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy and currently director of Legislative Affairs for INTEGRIS Health was among four state leaders honored by Leadership Oklahoma this past weekend.

She received the Distinguished Graduate Award, which honors a Leadership Oklahoma graduate whose recent leadership activities have exemplified the highest standards of Leadership Oklahoma and whose activities achieved results or set an example of statewide significance. The Excellence in Leadership Gala was co-chaired by Donna and Bruce Lawrence of Oklahoma City and Suzanne and Jim McAuley of Norman.

Two Norman residents are among nine journalists to be inducted into the Oklahoma Journalism Hall of Fame April 9 at the University of Central Oklaoma in Edmond.

University of Oklahoma journalism professor Mike Boettcher, a Ponca City native and longtime broadcast journalist for CNN and NBC, will be inducted along with Andy Rieger, of Norman, a longtime Norman Transcript employee who has worked for Oklahoma newspapers for more than 30 years.

Other honorees are Gean B. Atkinson, Ray Dyer, Sean Dyer, Susan Boling Ellerbach, Melba Lovelace, Bill Sherman and Jack Stone.
