STILLWATER — Bedlam produced everything Oklahoma could have possibly wanted except what it coveted most — a win over Oklahoma State.
The Sooners fell, 84-79, in an overtime thriller at Gallagher-Iba Arena on Saturday.
The loss dropped OU to 16-8 overall and 7-5 in the Big 12 Conference. The 17th-ranked Cowboys improved to 19-5 and remained in a tie atop the Big 12 standings at 9-3.
Romero Osby led the Sooners with 18 points and 15 rebounds. The senior forward scored OU’s last eight points in regulation and first basket in regulation, but went cold after that.
OSU’s Le’Bryan Nash, who scored 26 points, didn’t. He scored six of his points in overtime to fuel OSU’s victory.
Sam Grooms came off the bench to add 18 points and Steven Pledger added 18 as well for OU.
Marcus Smart led the Cowboys with 28 points.
