LAWRENCE, Kan. — Beating Kansas required three things from Oklahoma: It had to guard the Jayhawks like its hair was on fire, efficiently score and make it a low-scoring game.
Two out of three wasn’t enough in the Sooners’ 67-54 loss to No. 3 Kansas at Allen Fieldhouse.
It was on the offensive end where OU came up short. It was 21 for 58 from the field (36.2 percent). Amath M’Baye and Romero Osby both scored 12 points to lead OU (13-5, 4-2 Big 12). However, the post tandem was 8 for 26.
Ben McLemore led the Jayhawks (18-1, 6-0) with 18 points. Center Jeff Withey finished with 13 points nine rebounds and four blocks. Kansas shot 43.6 percent (24 for 55).
