CUSHING, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a Tulsa teenager shot by Cushing police officers has died.
Cushing police say officers responded to a disturbance call at about 7 p.m. Thursday outside of a chiropractic clinic and gym on Cushing’s Main Street. Cushing police say officers encountered 18-year-old Rabih Ozeir in the parking lot.
Police say Ozeir threatened the officers with a handgun and refused officers’ commands to put down the weapon.
Officers opened fire, striking Ozeir several times. OSBI says Ozeir died in a Tulsa hospital.
The officers are on paid administrative leave as the incident is investigated.
